Since its inception in 2008, the Department of Aeronautical Engineering has over the years adapted and improved with the fast pace of technology. A sincere and hardworking student body with the wholehearted support of dedicated faculty have contributed in to the professional success enjoyed by the student’s who graduated from this department. The department has been continually changing and evolving to meet the needs of modern industry and to train its students to pursue their goals with concentrated determination that has led former students to the greatest heights in their endeavor no matter what responsibility they chose to assume.
Established during the year 2002 with B.Tech. Biotechnology programme (full time – 4 years) and during the year 2011 started M.Tech. Biotechnology programme (full time – 2 years). Both the programmes are affiliated to Anna University and accredited by AICTE. The infrastructure and expertise of the department is recognized and awarded by Anna University as the Centre for Research to further research and development. The well structured program offers the students with theoretical and practical training in biological expertise that is currently used in biotechnology industry.
The department took its establishment and initiation in the year 2009 to impart knowledge in ‘General Engineering Concepts’ and ‘Studies’ in ‘Civil Engineering’. The department has well equipped laboratory facilities and highly qualified faculty members having rich experience in teaching and industrial background. Beyond these basics, study of Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Solid Mechanics and Environmental Engineering Sciences. The department of civil engineering has Student Chapter of Professional bodies like ICI and MoU’S with Various organizations.
The Department of Computer Science And Engineering established in the year of 2001 has a long record of academic excellence. The Department has been recognized as Research centre by Anna University in 2015. The Department is equipped with all requisite structure like D-Link certified Network lab with an excellent Internet facility of 45 MBPS Optical Fiber connectivity and state-of-art computing facilities and with “Microsoft Campus Agreement” which provides genuine Microsoft products to the students.
The department of Electrical & Electronics established in the year 2001 with the undergraduate programme and it has well qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty who have been the driving force behind the rapid success of this department. The department lays stress on all round development of the students as well as faculty and laboratory staff by providing them conducive academic environment and necessary infrastructure for carrying out academic and research work. The UG program is embraced by rigor and span to prepare a practicing engineer for a lifetime of creative work and ongoing technical learning with signed MoU’s like NIWE, NIELIT, NSIC, MSME and VI Micro Systems Pvt Ltd.
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2001 with the vision to become a centre of excellence to provide endowment education and produce innovative engineers to excel at international level. The Department Laboratories are fully air conditioned, well equipped with computer systems highly configured computational units. The Department has well experienced and certified faculty in all specializations such as VLSI design, Applied Electronics, Microwave & Optical Engineering Communication Systems, Medical Electronics, Digital Systems and Embedded systems.
Information technology empowers people to do what they want to do. It lets people to be creative and productive. It lets people learn things they didn’t think they could learn before, and so in a sense it is all about potential. It is the field that is growing promptly. To enlighten the novel engineers in this field a B.Tech. Degree level program in Information Technology in the year 2001. The Department of Information Technology has been an active and effective part of Jeppiaar Engineering College (JEC) for more than a decade.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering from the day of its inception in the year 2002 has been taking long strides in the field of Science and Engineering. The objective of Mechanical Engineering Department is to provide high class education enabling the students to have the ability to design, plan, administer and manage the latest technologies in the field of mechanical engineering to face the future challenges. The Department provides most sophisticated laboratory facilities and excellent infrastructure to the students. The department has well qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic Teaching and Technical staff members.
