Since its establishment in 2008, the JEC Aeronautical Engineering department prepares engineers for success and leadership in the conception, design, implementation, and operation of aero-vehicles and related engineering systems. After two successful batches passing out it has produced Four University Ranks from the First Batch and 12 with One Gold Medal from the Second Batch which contains Five Top Ranks through commitment Management and Staff to: educational excellence; creation, development, and application of technologies critical to Aerospace Engineering systems and to the architecture and engineering of complex high-performance Aircraft and Rockets.
The Department with its energetic and dynamic faculty has provided complete engineering converting the individuals in to engineers, with both classroom and shop floor knowledge. The department has well qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty who have been the driving force behind the rapid success of this department.
The department is well equipped with air-conditioned laboratories and owns CESSNA A185- Series Civil Utility Aircraft, Supersonic Wind Tunnel operated at 3.98 Mach number to provide the high quality education in the state-of-the-art aeronautical engineering principles and practice at undergraduate level through hands-on training.
The department is engaged in engineering science instruction, in-flight laboratory work, aerodynamic testing, and indigenous design and fabrication of advanced facilities and instruments. The Department specializes in Aerodynamics, Flight Mechanics, Propulsion, and Aircraft Structures. The Department also gives exposure to the students in design and manufacturing skills in its fully-equipped CAD/CAM laboratory. To acquaint them with current technological advancements, Inplant training to HAL, BLUE DART, DRDO, TANEJA AEROSPACE & AVIATION LTD, Industrial Visits to VSSC, ISRO, various ports and technical seminars are organized frequently. Student's memberships in various professional bodies like AeSi and SAE, help to enhance their co-curricular activities.
Overall, in matters of teaching, research & development, the department has always tried to strike a balance between hardware development and experiments on one hand, and theory and computational aspects on the other.
The Department focuses to impart the art of scientific knowledge, intend to innovation, leadership qualities, moral values and entrepreneurial skills to make every student capable of challenging the complex task in the field of modern Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering.

PSO 1: Professional Skills: An Aeronautical Engineers capable to exploit the knowledge of Aeronautical Engineering in innovative fashion and challenging environment of design and development of new products.
PSO 2: Problem-solving skills: Theoretical knowledge imparted through simulation language skills and utilization of CAE packages to design and analyses the practical problems of components to compete the challenge of airworthiness for flight vehicles.
